Needs of the disabled
Where and when?
school
possible issues with the teacher needing to teach the rest of the class rather than focus on the client's issues of needing a more one on one experience of learning. In a more severe case, the ability to move around the building on their own could also be affected - it all depends on the severity of the case
getting to places
driving could be a problem (as stated in the ADULTS section) but also getting on and off of trains, busses and airplanes depending on if they can fend for themselves out in public. With disabilities such as dyslexia and ADHD, this may not be a big problem but for people whose mobility has been affected, someone or something would need to change to their needs
work
the accessibility of the work building, the quality of the facilities (such as if you need to use a wheel chair, do they have ramps? lifts?), or even with more minor disabilities such as dyslexia - what is the attitude of HR like and how has the work load or requirements been tailored to the client's disability? what is the general mood towards the client like (are they accepting and understanding or unwilling to cooperate to their needs?)
home
depending on the severity of the disability, there may be issues with getting out or and into bed, making food for themselves, cleaning themselves - just an overall lack of ability which a carer can be hired to help. It may also be simple things however, such as not being able to work from home for some reason
Main problems
kids
physical problems that cause difficulty swallowing, chewing or digesting certain foods
limited mobility, which might make it difficult to sit up to eat or drink
a learning disability which would prevent them from learning at the same pace or rate as their peers and
school
trouble communicating with peers and teachers and so unable to tell them what they need help with or what to improve
lack of funding for materials to assist the learning of the student or accessibility of the school building
lack of peer understanding about what their disability means for them and why they are like that, as well as lack of understanding about how to assist the student
lack of specialists that could help and assist the student during or out of lessons so that they get what they need to have a full experience of school

driving - disabilities more serious such as amputees or something that affects the brain's ability to asses and understand situations may prevent the client from controlling a car safely
getting a job or being considered for university/interviews - from disabilities of the body such as missing limbs does not affect the stimulation of the brain, disabilities such as dyslexia, ADHD or even being unable to voice ideas because of some reason, may effect how far they can go in university simply depending on the resources they have. Furthermore, the client may not be capable to apply
accessing stairs/upstairs rooms of accommodations - be it work, home or out and about
Initial thoughts
kids
school
help them fit in with other children and be in a comfortable environment at school to concentrate at the right level for them. Being unable to make friends could not only impact their learning but, of course, their mental health also
a way to process their own wants and needs, and how to communicate these to their peers, parents and teachers
a way for them to learn in a way their brains can process and interact with such as active learning, learning with games or something else that could engage their minds better
a way to process social life outside of school and allow them to maintain a healthy friendship so they feel in a loved community. although this might not seem important, the mental health of the child is also vital
to help parents with the stress of daily life of having a child that is so high functioning. Although the category is needs of the disabled, the impacts on the parents of the child are real too
adults
daily living
getting from necesary place to necesary placewould be difficult depending on the client's ability to drive, get a bus etc
being able to maintain a good hygiene routine may be difficult depending on the severity of the case, and how willing they are to have a carer help them
