The Sun, The Earth And The Moon
Sun- All the objects seen in the sky are celestial objects. The sun is at the distance about 150 million km from the earth.
The diameter of the sun is about 13,92,000 km. It's size is 109 times, Earths and it's mass is about 3,30,000 times of the earth.
The thin outer core of the sun is called corona and the middle part is core. In the core hydrogen is converted into helium which is hot.

-
Earth- It is the third planet in the solar system. The atmosphere is protects us from the harmful radiations of the sun.
The earth is divided into three layers crust, mantle are core
Crust- It is the outer most layer of the earth. Continents and oceans lie on this layer. The thickness differs from 5 km to 70 km. It is made up of rocks.
-
Mantle- This layer lies below the crust, it is about 2900 km thick. The upper part has solid rocks, but the lower part has molten rocks. Molten magma is released when a volcano erupts.
-
Core- It is the innermost layer of the earth. The outer core is 2300 km thick , the inner core is about 1200km thick. It contains iron and nickel in a molten state. Some sulphur is there. Inner core is a solid ball made of iron.
-
Moon- The moon is made of rocks but doesn't has air. The moon is a satellite of earth. The distance is from earth to moon is about 3,84,400 km. The moon does not have any light of his own, moonlight is actually reflected sun.

Phases of the moon- waning crescent, third quarter, waning gibbous, full moon, waxing gibbous, first quarter, waxing crescent.
Eclipse- Look at the picture , this phenomenon is called an eclipse. An eclipse is formed in the space when a celestial body cover full or partial by another. This is formed when tree bodies are in straight line.
Solar eclipse- This is formed when moon lies between the sun and earth, so the shadow During this the sun is blocked.
Solar eclipse can be of two types total solar eclipse and partial lunar eclipse. Total solar eclipse- a total solar eclipse occurs when the sun is full, blocked by the moon. Partial solar eclipse - only a part is covered by moon.
Lunar eclipse- It occurs when the earth is between sun and moon, this happens only on night of a full moon. This hides the moon from earth partially or totally.
