Melting causes erosion
Rising sea levels cause erosion because waves can go farther up on land, like beaches and cliffs.
Coastal areas are affected the most, and buildings get destroyed which affects human life. It also destroys habitats like the saltwater that has spread to freshwater areas and kills the freshwater animals. The water that covers beaches makes it so animals that bury their eggs can't do that anymore.
This can lead to bigger weather patterns like hurricanes. Because of the warmer air and water from the sun's heat and also because heat is trapped in the earth's atmosphere because of the increase of carbon dioxide. This is because of other effects as explained in the other branches.
