Causes of earthquakes
Janisha/Leisha/Sanav-When tectonic plates rub against each other the ground moves and earthquakes are formed
Aryan-Convergent, Divergent and Transform Tectonic plate movement
Leisha/Dev/Aryan-Hypocenter- Is where the the earthquake takes place under the land ,on the tectonic plate
Shaan/Rinav-Epicenter -the point on the surface of the earth where the earthquake happens
Impacts of earthquake
Rinav-It impacts people lives and property-buildings,offices, trees, animals
Other disasters can happen when an earthquake takes place like Floods, Tsunamis(2004 Tsunami in the Indian Ocean) , landslides , Volcanic eruptions
It impacts /damages roads, railway tracks, vehicles
It causes a loss in money /economy as a lot of money has to be used again to build up offices, houses, railway tracks,roads etc
Responses / action to be taken-How can I be prepared?
DO NOT PANIC!
Do not use an elevator
No phones
Don't use fire, turn off the gas and water connection
Cover your head and neck
Stay away from buildings and go to an open space
Carry first aids, pack a bag for an emergency (clothes, medicines, food and some water )
Stay away from windows
Make houses using stronger materials
