Book One
In Book 1, we begin with Telemachus upset with all of his wealth being taken away, and Athena plots to bring Odysseus home. He behaves terrible to his mother, and plots a secret voyage to hear about his father.
- How can Telemachus behave really bad to his mom with no reprecussions.
- How can the suitors just take over everything, with no government.
Book 2
Telemachus calls an assembly to try to stop the suitors from marry his mother, and proposes plan to hear about Odysseus, and if found dead, his mom would marry one of them. Telemachus then secretly sails away
- Why don't the suitors just force Penelope to marry him.
- Why don't they just kill Telemachus, and fight for king.
Book 3
Telemachus goes to Nestor and asks for news of his father. Nestor tells the story of all of them coming back to Troy and their fates. Telemachus behaves appropriately and is pointed in the direction of Nestor.
- Why can't Nestor and the others go to Ithaca and help out Telemachus.
- Why can't Athena help Telemachus outright.
Book 4
Telemachus tells the story of how the suitors are destroying his inheritance, and Menelaus tells of his return home, and how Odysseus is still alive. He sends Telemachus treasure, while the suitors plot his death, and Penelope hears the suitors plotting.
