- Increase in women state leagislatures from 114 and 228
- A greater number of women went to work
- Restrictions for women on factories and workshops fell away as they needed workers and the men were on the home front
- Propoganda saw the expansion in opportunities for women
- Advisory committee to advise utilisation of women in the war
- Women worked more skilled jobs, had increased confidence & status
