The next morning, Odysseus told his loyal men to come with him and scout out the island. Polyphemus, the owner of the cave, comes back and eats two of Odysseus' men. He claims that he'll keep eating them slowly, but Odysseus comes up with a plan. The next dawn when Polyphemus leaves, he grabs a big wooden stick and makes a spear out of it. In the evening when he came back, Odysseus got him drunk, claimed his name was Noman, then stabbed his eye while he was asleep.
