amelogensis- histogenesis of enamel - Coggle Diagram
- amelogensis- histogenesis of enamel
96%- inorganic (minerals), 4% organic matrix
-
stages of formation
3 maturation stage- full thickness of enamel obtained, big influx of minerals, removal of water and organic portion
extracellular proteins (amelgenin) get removed, crystals grow and increase thickness)
-
-
^ minerals ^ size of crystals, maturation of crystals, maturation of the organic matrix
mineralisation types
primary: needle shaped crystals, thin deposition, rapidly increases in size, 50nm thick
secondary: rapid process of enamel changing from soft to hard material and large quantities of mineral is deposited in the matrix (at DEJ)
mineralisation moves from the DEJ towards the tip of cusp, then sides of crown, then lastly the cervix
