Government Stance by: Zoe
From 1775 to1781, the Second Continental Congress had their first act. They were a congress which planned to organize and unite all the Patriots to rebel against the British rulers. The role of the commander general was given to George Washington.
Due to the 3,000 soldiers occupying the city in Boston after the Tea Party event, many other colonies were worried that it may happen to them too. So, they all gathered up and conversed with each other about the situation. However, even after the colonies asked to stop, the British refused. This led to the first battle in the American Revolution.
The congress had no legal authority at the time. It acted as the government of the former colonies but not much else and couldn't do much with the power which was given.

Due to the French war in 1754, the British wanted to oppose taxes on the colonies. Since the crown had defended them in the past, the British wanted repayment
As to protest from colonization, dressed as First Nations, the Americans seized a ship which was boarded with tea. They then dumped over 10,000 pounds of tea in the sea. It was later known as the Boston Tea Party. This caused a chain reaction of events that would later affect the American Revolution. This caused around 3,000 British soldiers to occupy the city in Boston.

Effects on Canada by: Hailey and Zoe
Due to the invasions towards Canada, they refused to fight alongside America during the wars. Canada decided not to fight for either British or the Americans during the war.
Many of the loyalists moved to Quebec to find a new home. Many Canadiens lived there at that time and mostly spoke in French. However, the loyalists did not like their new home and built their own and they did not want to obey the French law. Instead, they built the House of Assembly that followed British law.
Quebec was invaded by Americans in 1775 and the Americans had constantly tried to raid Canada after many failed attempts.
