Note-Taking Methods
Why?
People lose information in the first 24 hours
This helps you refresh your memory on what you learned
Sentence Method:
It's considered worst possible way to take notes
Copying word for word and you don't gain a better understanding
Outline Method:
This method is good for presentations if clear or from textbooks
Not good for classes that show a lot of work
Charting Method
You use T-charts, 3 column notes
Hard to do when you have information ahead of time
Mind Mapping Method:
One of the best methods to take notes
Visual learners will remember more information with this method
There can be connections, it's not in order or anything
Cornell Method:
Divide paper up and leave some space for extra notes
Good for AVID and it's AVID's favorite method
