Need To Achieve (NACH)= Athletes strive for success/ No giving up/ Feel good when things accomplished More focus on completing more challenging personal goals rather than comparing to peers
Need To Avoid Failure= Athletes that want to avoid scenarios. E.G: they'd rather play against a weaker opponent where success is almost guaranteed or against an opponent that is so good failure is guaranteed
Over Motivation
Training Addiction= Where training becomes a must in everyday life. seen as an equivalent disorder as eating disorders. Think they dont need sleep and rest

Questions asked tho= Is optimal point at a singular point or do athletes last for different periods at optimal performance
Catastrophe Theory
Exapnds on Inverted U by suggesting that Inverted U platos when an individual has low levels of cognitive annxiety
Difference between Inverted U and Catastrophe is that Catastrophe doesn't have a steady decline of performance
-
Stress
Types of stress
Distress= Its a bad form of stress. Extreme case of anxiety/ apprehension due to an inability to meet demands. It can lead to an excessive increase in arousal levels and decrease in performance levels
Eustress= Is a good form of stress. It gives athletes a sense of fufilment and accomplishment. Increases intrinsic motivation
