Transitions to Constitutional Regimens
Central America and the Caribbean
In Central America which are made up of many countries are: El Salvador, Nicaragua, Panama, Haiti. All these countries have a history behind them, such as Nicaragua with the dictator Somoza, who after many decades was overthrown by the military and a popular movement.
Andean countries
They are made up of different countries which are Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. All these countries have their history of military dictatorships and much more. As examples:
Ecuador: in 1979 the new constitution
came into force and the government
elected in that year began its work plan.
Peru: the military dictatorship
abandoned power and a civil
society came to power.
Bolivia: the rpoceso of
establishment
was altered by
previous military
dictatorships.
Colombia: It remained with
a very strong
regime but presented
armed insurrectionists.
Venezuela: He went to the country
that was the best since he really
enjoyed the augue of oil exports.
Southern Cone
It is made up of Chile, Argentina,
Uruguay and Paraguay and
the cases of these are:
Uruguay: the dictatorship was overthrown and the country returned to the constitutional regime
Argentina: the governments of dictators reached extreme unpopularity. it was against Great Britain which was defeated in 1982 which caused the rule of law to be established.
Chile: trans a pkebiscito attempt in 1988 that tried to prolong power. I end up overthrown and the country recovered the legal regime little by little. but the constitution of the dictatorship that limits democracy remained in force.
Paraguay: tube many stages to regain the rule of law the last dictatorship to overthrow was that of Stroessner.
Directed democracies
After the military dictatorships, the countries entered the constitutional regime. Many things were done like elections were made. but even if the military regimes had influence, that is why it is called directed or supervised democracy
Latin American solidarity
People discovered concerns such as integration made people more aware of Latin American belonging. In the same way, it helped that the people of the southern cone be able to move to Mexico and other places on the continent.
Construction of democracy
Latin America has a great task and it is the construction of democracy of a regime of law with equality, elections of its authorities. In addition, democracy implies not only the validity of a legal regime but of many things such as the effective respect of people's rights.
