Efficient resource management because students need a lot of programs to be open at any point in time. Also, many students must be coming from windows so a desktop environment such as Cinnamon, KDE or XFCE can be used instead of Gnome or Unity.
Linux obviously is known for full customisability, near invincible security against viruses and malware.
Since almost every student in the school uses a laptop and every linux distro is lighter than windows, a longer battery life is also offered which is something needed for a student moving from one class to another or having to work in an area without a charging station in case of offline schooling
Lastly, my distro will offer a faster boot time than windows for the multitasker in every student and needing to save as much time wherever possible as well as support for older laptops and speed often surpassing windows even with 5 year old laptops.
