Thesis Statement
A thesis statement is a sentence that sums up the central point of your paper or essay, which usually comes near the end of your introduction.
Insightful examples and details
The ability to perceive clearly the significance of an event or action through relating it to clear examples of the topic and support it with details.
Transitional words and sentences
It works to connect thoughts, sentences and paragraphs together. Transition words are important within a sentence or paragraph because they allow arguments to flow seamlessly from one sentence or thought to another.
Sense of engagement
Sense of engagement refers to the writing behaviors and writing strategies that follow from the writers motivation in order to get very much the attention of the reader and to relate with it.
Sophisticated sentence structure
By using a sophisticated sentence structure, it is intended to mention the subject of a sentence is the person, place, or thing that is performing the action of the sentence in a formal way.
Topic development
Is the process of adding informative and illustrative details to support the main idea in a paragraph or essay.
Clear focus
It helps make the purpose of your writing clear and allow readers to follow your reasoning with ease. Focus is the controlling idea, main point, or guiding principle of your writing.
Rational sequence of ideas
It is intended to first write a background on all the research that has been done about the topic. Then being able to identify the gaps in the literature and emphasize why it is important to address those gaps to have the information organized.
Fluidity
In order to make the reader's job easier, in the writing there must be transitions to link sentences, concise wording, and a varied sentence structure for it to have fluidity
Sentence variety
Sentence variety helps to reduce repetition in a piece of writing and adds emphasis to important points in the text.
Elaboration
Is the process of presenting and developing an idea, also adding more detail to better explain what has already been said. It means to explain the main idea in depth using key details that also describe or develop the topic.
Coherence
It describes the way that the elements in our sentences and paragraphs hang together to produce meaning making sure that they interconnect well so that a reader can process our reasoning easily.
Vivid language
It helps the reader or listener see a clear picture of the author's or speaker's message as it creates an image on their mind.
Voice
It refers to the rhetorical mixture of vocabulary, tone, point of view, and syntax that makes phrases, sentences, and paragraphs flow in a particular manner.
Sophisticated vocabulary
By using sophisticated vocabulary, it means that it is both complex and intricate for our writing as it is used to go beyond the readers attention and do it in a formal way.
