Within the course of the past couple years, I have had to opportunity to travel various states of India. These states included Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Haryana, West Bengal, Maharashtra and Rajasthan. A key observation I made when comparing my visit to each state was the varying artistic style in furniture.
This experience taught me that each culture expresses itself through materialistic things like furniture. Therefore, I wanted to explore how I could represent the artistic styles of minority communities through a purposeful product.
