rio de janeiro
importance
they are important for the locals since often people rely on markets and jobs from favellas or tourism to make a living and then also nationally they are important for things like tourism it brings in a lot of foreign people that will spend money and use facilities meaning it add to the continents wealth as a whole. internationally they are important because they produce a lot of crops a lot of citrus and tropical foods that can't be grown in the place like the uk and have to be. over 200 languages spoken very cultural 5 total money for Brazil. jaguar landrover furniture oil pharmeceuticals inftant deaths in urban are 6.2/1000 but in rural are about 18/1000
social opportunities
the slums or favellas tourism and all this new constrution for infrastructure and much much more opens up tens if not hundreds of thousands of jobs to people around. though they might not be the best paying likely enough to get by for people without the spare for luxuries. in cities education and healthcare is very good. any tax that goes in does get used to help people living there
economic opportunities
all these new opened up jobs do give the chance for people to be amking excess money and be able to pay for luxuries and then add to the local economy by haivng a bigger house more expensive groceries. basically getting things that aren't nessecities but since they can afford them and want them they get them.
favela bairro
the biggest problem with this is the fact that there is no laws there. Well there is but they just can't be enforced there are about 1.5 million people living in slums in rio and since there is generally no roads and only small cut throughs to get around it means law enforcement can't get around easily to deal with the problems
economic challenges
LIC they are struggling for money since they have a lot of crime and other social challenges it does impact on economy since a good chunk of the population is in poverty they can't help supporting small business by getting any extra luxuries and maybe extra clothing or more than the bare minimum food wise.
social challenges
people migrating to and from the favellas is actually a reallbig problem because they are completely ungovernable the police get into gun fights quite a lot and there is gang violence and staling all the time also very unhygenic place to be often there will be feaces on the road side and it doesn't look good meaning people will have bad morale and this will lead to bad work ethic and lack of motivation which means less money this is a problem since then people resort in desperation to this crime life to survive. but also in the cities it is actually very nice place to be with quality scenery

importance
the importance for southampton for its residents and workers is that they will rely on this as a commuter town like they live here and then commute into somewhere like London on the train so they can get better pays from the more expensive place but then be able to live in a cheaper place and on the country side so they don't have to deal with the city life stress some people get from living there antionally we are important because we import and export through southampton docks around 10-15% this also is very important for internationally helping peopleby being able to exports many millions of tonnes through their super sized port same for the tourists
impact of migration
this means the population increases and the country as a whole will put out more co2 more products and more money when people come to southamton for studies in university ot to move there maybe as a communter it brings in all their money to the local and nearby economy since they will start buying for example groceries or going out drinking they then help with these contributions to funding smaller business which allows places like westquay to exists since there are the needed amount of willing to pay customers.
regeneration
the main example of this is westquay because before around 2021 april time it was a pretty much abandoned and had nobosy there a lot of crime closed shops and wasn't very nice for people that are local to be looking at. this then was redone back up and became extremely modern and very popular with people from ages of about 8 all the way to elderly people in their 80s or 90s it was something for everyone and then the business their are able to get many more customers seing their shops and products services leading to a a boost in the local economy
urban change challenges
urban change while bringing many positives to the table it can also very bad because the more people we have living here the more people we have using cars kettles appliances in general electricity then the more stress and demand is made then more is made more co2 is created from making the energy and also often people oprefer if there culture was kept as it is and not interfeared with and some fear that this will impact for example what shops are open there are a few foreighn based shops around like maybe a kebab resturant or japanese cultural shop that can begin to see a lacking of british culture in the surroundings of cities
urban sustainability
is a problem we in the uk and in specifically southampton are dealing with because we offer a commuter life with good jobs even if you don't want to commute many shopping centres like westquay for example and markets when in season so many people are wanting to be in this place as there is easy access to many things like trains motorways or specific shops.
