Climate Factors how and why does each factor affect climate and pic
Latitude
Why: The sun's rays shine directly onto you on the equator but far from the equator, the sun's rays bounce of the earth and only a bit of heat gets to the place.
How: The closer you are to the equator the hotter it is. The further you are, the colder it is.
Ocean Currents
Why: The warm/cold ocean currents flow by changing the climate and changing the water heat.
How: When you live near a warm ocean current, it is hot. When you live near a cold ocean current, it is cold.
Elevation
Why: There are less air molecules to trap the sun's heat
How: The higher it is the colder it is
Bodies of water
Why: The water from the body of water evaporates which creates moisture that turns into rain.
How: You get more rain.
Relief
Why: All of the water that tries to cross the mountain becomes rain and rains down. That means the other side does not get much rain.
How: If you live on one side of the mountain where there is a ocean you get lots of rain. On the other side it is dry.
Wind and air masses
How: You either get cold winds or warm winds which makes it either cold or hot.
Why: The warm winds come from the equator and the cold air comes from the poles. If they meet, they might create tornadoes or cyclones.
