Climate Factors How and why does each factor affect climate and a picture
Latitude
The sun's heat hits the earth directly on the equator, causing it to get the most heat. The rest of the earth just gets the heat that bounced of the atmosphere, which is way less.
The closer you are to the equator you are, the warmer it becomes.
Ocean Currents
Why. Different parts of the ocean have different temperatures of water, and the currents suck up the water and take then to different places, changing the temperature of the water
How. The ocean currents carry different temperatures of water to different areas.
Elevation
Why. Higher elevations there are less air molecules to trap the suns heat.
Picture
How. The higher you go the colder it gets.
Bodies of Water
The water traps the heat from the summer and releases it when winter comes because large bodies of water take a long time to heat up.
Living next to a large body of water gives you warmer winters and colder summers.
Relief
The higher you are, the air molecules start to get thinner and farther apart, causing the temperature to drop. This also caused rain to freeze, and become snow.
The higher up you are, the colder the temperature will get.
Wind and Air Masses
Why.. The warm and cold air mix, and this causes precipitation, that lets the rain fall down.
How. When warm and cold air meet it causes rain and percipitation.
