Bandura proposed SLT, the view that behaviour can be learned by imitating others. this type of learning requires some kind of sophisticated cognitive processing. Bandura had 3 study (1961, 1963, 1965) 61- children were Brought to play with old toys, then shown a bunch of new toys and were told they wee for other children, then put into a room with rage toys and acted aggressivley. 63- at a nursery, the experiment remained the same except the children were split into 4, mo aggression observed, cartoon aggression, filmed realistic aggression and live aggression, see how they reacted afterwards. 65- same as last one, children split into 3 groups and watched videos of someone attacking bobo, they saw an adult praised for it, an adult punished for it and no consequences.
Modelling- to model behaviour is to demonstrate it, in SLT, modelling takes place when one individual displays a particular social behaviour in the presence of another. The individual dmonstrating the behaviour is called the the model.
not all models demonstrating social behaviours are imitated
