The essence of Journalism
Journalism and citizens
Keep independence.
Journalism’s independence is a cornerstone of reliability. A News desk or any journalism practitioner could sustain independence is means their products would not distortion. They are't tempted by interest or intimidated by power.
Tell the truth
Journalists should be as transparent as possible, about the news of sources and methods produced by them. Then audiences can be made their assessment of the news.
Seeking out multiple sources, disclosing as much as possible. Or asking various sides for comment.
Journalism must provide a forum for the public to speak.
It must strive to remain interesting and important. Journalist is storytelling with a purpose.
Everyone is reporter
Just like a journalist distinguishes and filters all the information in life, is more helpful to yourself. More consciously to treat what message you received.
My thoughts.
In early times, the news was transmission by professional journalists and news desk. Now in this era of information explosion, most crowds receive largely and shortly messages every day. The situation makes people used to seeking fast and short information rather than reading long texts carefully.
It allows people only short expressions, just like the message they read.
I just think, always remaining short and fast expressions is not a good thing. It will miss a lot of important detail and correctness.
Try to filter all of the messages we received like a journalist, which may change that phenomenon of "fast food news". Also, it is taken our "right to know" back.
