Santiago wakes up and visits the milk store; the Vicario twins choose to kill him after the bishop's arrival. Promptly afterwards, he goes to the dock to see the bishop's arrival. However, the bishop passes by on his boat without stepping foot on the island. Santiago then geeks out on wedding costs

Ibrahim Nasar arrives at the end of the civil war in 1902
twins return home right before 3am and Pedro asks Angela who took her virginity. Angela says it was Santiago.
Bayardo returns Angela to her family after he discovers she is not a virgin. Angela is savagely beat by her mother, silently as not to wake the rest of the household.
Nasar takes his friend Cristo to the town square. He then tells Margot that he will meet with them inside the Narrator's house. The narrator's mother, Luisa Santiaga goes to warn Placida Linero.

Santiago Nasar's corpse is left in the house, and the local priest performed a rudimentary autopsy on him; he had seven fatal knife wounds, one of which caused a massive haemorrhage that led to his death.
The Vicario twins are locked up in a jail cell, in which they suffer from insomnia (partly from killing Santiago and the paranoia of death threats from the Arabians)
