The Atmosphere - Coggle Diagram
The Atmosphere
Mesosphere
Layer above Stratosphere
Extends from 50 km to 80 km
Temperature decreases with altitude
Meteoroids slow down and burn up here
Air is thinner than Stratosphere
Troposphere
Lower most layer of atmosphere
Contains 75% of all air
99% of water vapor is present
Weather changes take place
20 km away from Earth
Stratosphere
Second layer
Extends from 20 km to 50 km above Earth’s surface.
Temperature increases with altitude.
Ozone layer present
Planes fly in this layer
Less dense air than Troposphere
Exosphere
Air is vert thin in this layer. Beyond this layer is a vast empty space.
Protects the earth from meteors and asteroids
Extends from 690 km to outer space
Outer-Most Layer
Auroras like the northern lights and the southern lights are formed here.
Thermosphere
Fourth layer of atmosphere
Extends from 85 km to 690 km
Temperature increases with altitude
Air is less dense here
Ionosphere is a part of the Thermosphere
Space shuttles orbit. The International Space Station is found here.
