VIRUSES AND PRIONS
Viruses. Composed of biomolecules. Don't perform all of the life processes of living things. They have a capsule of proteins with nucleic acid inside. Use the organelles of infected cells to reproduce.
Prions: Proteins that cause neurological diseases. Don't perform any life processes and they do not have a cellular structure.
3 LIFE PROCESSES
REPRODUCTION
-
2 types of reproduction:
Asexual: do not need a partner to produce copies of themselves. Unicellular or multicellular organisms
Sexual reproduction requires two parent cells from different living things. This then grows into a new organism.
-
NUTRITION
Process where living things obtain energy and matter and use it to grow, reproduce and survive. Produce waste.
