Ice Sports
Ice Skating: skating on ice as a sport or pastime.
Ice Hockey: a game played on ice between two teams of players who each have a curved stick with which they try to put a puck (= a small, hard disc) into the other team's goal
Snowboarding: Snowboarding is a recreational and competitive activity that involves descending a snow-covered slope while standing on a snowboard that is almost always attached to a rider's feet.
Ski Jumping: a sport in which a person on skis moves very fast down a specially made steep slope that turns up at the end, and jumps off from the bottom of it, landing on a lower level
Skeleton : Skeleton is a winter sliding sport in which a person rides a small sled, known as a skeleton bobsled (or -sleigh).
Ball Sports
Football: a game played between two teams of eleven people, where each team tries to win by kicking a ball into the other team's goal
Volleyball: a game in which two teams use their hands to hit a large ball backwards and forwards over a high net without allowing the ball to touch the ground
Basketball: a game played by two teams of five players who score points by throwing a large ball through an open net hanging from a metal ring
Baseball: a game played especially in North America by two teams of nine players, in which a player hits a ball with a bat (= stick) and tries to run around four bases on a large field before the other team returns the ball
Bowling: the game of tenpin bowling as a sport or recreation.
Board Sports
Windsurfing: the sport or activity of riding on water on a sailboard.
Bodyboarding: a sport you do using a bodyboard
Dog surfing: a type of surfing maneuver involving dogs that are trained to surf.
Skimboarding: a boardsport in which a skimboard is used to glide across the water's surface to meet an incoming breaking wave, and ride it back to shore.
Riverboarding: a boardsport in which the participant lies prone on their board with fins on their feet for propulsion and steering.
Water Sports
Kite Surfing: an extreme sport where the kiter uses the wind power with a large power kite to be pulled on a water.
Swimming: Swimming is an individual or team racing sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water.
Flyboarding: the sport or activity of riding a flyboard.
Horse surfing: Horse surfing is an extreme sport invented in 2005. It requires two people, a horse, and a board.
Recreational fishing: also called sport fishing, is fishing for pleasure or competition.
Athletics
Running: Running is a method of terrestrial locomotion allowing humans and other animals to move rapidly on foot.
Throwing : Throwing is an action which consists in accelerating a projectile and releasing it so that it then follows a ballistic trajectory, usually with the aim of impacting a remote target.
Race walking: Racewalking, or race walking, is a long-distance discipline within the sport of athletics
