        same $ as coal & not expensive to make
        
        -no production of C02= no greenhouse effect
        
        huge amount energy for small amount of fuel
        
        minimal waste
        
        -very reliable
        
        Dissadvantages
        
        -Heat & radioactivity are emitted
        
        -waste= radioactive, so very dangerous to humans
    - - -Coal (comes from fossilization of terrestrial plants from swamps
        -Oil & Gas
      - -formed by fossilization (rotting over millions of years)
      - -takes millions of years to form
      - -from prehistoric plants &
      - animals
      - Advantages:
        
        -+++ energy can be easily generated & its cheap
        
        -transportation of gas & oil to power stations= easy
      - Dissadvantages
        
        -Pollution
        
        ++CO2= climate change
        
        ++ S02= acid rains
        
        -Mining coal= difficult & dangerous
    - - --contains ++ energy
      - -circulating liquids deep underground to heat them up
      - -hot molten rocks (mantle)
      - Advantage: -renewable, unlimited energy
        
        no emissions of CO2 or CH4 (methane)
      - Disadvantage: -very $

      - -reduces biodiversity
      - -killing of beneficial microorganisms & insects
  - - - Loss of soil fertility
