COORDINATE AND CUMULATIVE ADJECTIVES.
COORDINATE:Coordinate adjectives are words that apply to and describe some attribute of the same noun or subject.
EXAMPLES OF COORDINATE ADJECTIVES:
n the classroom I found new, thin paper which can be used to make paper boat.
The painting shows a brown-haired and blue-eyed child standing alone in the storm.
In breakfast I ate two tasty, oversized blueberry muffins.
She brought home two dozen, long and heavy bananas.
My girl friend is very tall, thin woman.
CUMULATIVE:When two or more adjectives are used to modify the same noun, and when those adjectives must come in a particular order for the sentence to make sense, you have cumulative adjectives.
EXAMPLES OF CUMULATIVE ADJECTIVES:
Opinion: good, attractive, delicious.
Size: large, small, enormous.
Age/Condition: old, new, modern, worn.
Length or shape: long, short, square.
Color: red, blue, green.
Origin (nationality, religion): American, Muslim.
Material: plastic, wooden, cotton.
Purpose: electric (wire), tennis (shirt)
