The conquest and colonization represented a mercantilist system because
the products were produced for local and international markets. Also,
discovering and colonizing land was a business.
FEUDAL SYSTEM DEPENDENT ON THE MONARCHY
ENTRUSTMENT SYSTEM: The entrusted person received Indians for
those Indians to be Christianized. At the same time, Indians were used to
work for free.
INCA SYSTEM: Communities were obligated to provide a group of men to
work in mining.
SLAVERY SYSTEM: People worked very hard, and they were badly
treated
CHARACTERISTICS OF MERCHANTILISM
Mercantilism: The mercantile system was based on the understanding that
a nation's wealth and power were best served by increasing exports and
collecting precious metals, such as gold and silver. During this period, the
raw material was used to produce a large scale for the International Market.
