employment protocols
procedures relating to employer and employee responsibilities within a business
equal oppurtunities act - equality act requires employers to ensure no one is discriminated against
contractual obligations
duties or promises that need to be fulfilled by the employer to the employee and vice versa
employer must state the pay, annual leave, sick pay etc. in the contract of employment
employee has a duty to carry out and follow orders from the employer provided they are legal
minimum standards of professional behaviour - what is/isnt acceptable practice or behaviour

use appropriate lang
follow the sickness and absence policy set out by the business
deal with stakeholders in an open and honest manner, according to the antibribery and corruption policy of the business
health and safety legislation
health and safety work act states that an employer has a duty of care to ensure the workplace is safe and suitable for employees to carry out their job roles and that the workplace does not present a risk to employees or others
IT security protocols
these are procedures put in place in relation to the appropriate and secure use of IT equipment and software
protection of info again unauthorised access
passwords on documents, folders, computers, and networks - ensure only those who need to know can access the info
screen savers - these blank the screen of fill it with moving images when teh computer is not in use so that info or documents are not visible
locked files - use this to show people you are working on a document and prevent others from uploading a new version or making changes to the document
anti virus software and anti spyware - prevent info from being stolen or lost
inappropriate use of IT equipment and software
prevent employees from using workplace computers for personal reasons e.g. access to social media
prevent unauthorised installation of software such as games
prevent illegal use of workplace hardware/software
prevent loss of info due to misuse
consequence of inappropriate use
lower productivity e.g. when employees use social media
waste of business time and money e.g. viruses due to illegal downloads
possible law suits or fines for illegal activities
