self-assessments
A self-assessment is a means of allowing students to assess and critique their own work. This can be as simple as proofreading your own writing or double-checking homework. It can also be done by giving students a rubric by which to assess their own work and apply themselves a score.

Assessment of learning can help identify if students are meeting grade-level standards. These types of assessments are usually grade-based, and can include exams, portfolios, final projects, and standardized tests.
Assessments for learning provide the teacher with a snapshot of student learning and understanding as s/he teaches. They are ongoing and actionable and provide feedback to improve instruction.
Assessment as learning actively involves students in the learning process by teaching them critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It encourages students to set achievable goals for themselves and objectively measure their progress.
