awaking in new york
-
Intro: Awaking in New York is a poem written by one of the most famous poets Maya Angelou ,and it is about waking up somewhere in New York City in the morning. There are, however, deeper meanings behind it, such as the narrator's views about himself/ herself and the city. And how this poem is used to describe how life will go on regardless of the obstacles you face.

paragraph 4 tone
-
The tone suits the theme since the poet believes that life will continue to move on despite any obstacles, thus he is calm about it.
evidence :"children sleep," "awake as a rumor of war"
-
paragraph 3 theme
i agree with the theme of the poem as it describes how even though people face many problems and conflicts, life still moves on,the theme also describes finally waking up and trying to start or open yourself up to new life or a new day
The speaker is probably trying to tell the audience that it is okay to feel a certain way when preparing yourself for all the new experiences ahead.
conclusion
I like the poem because it gives me, as a reader, optimism and faith in how life will continue to move on. Another reason behind me liking this poem is because of its obvious message and overall linguistic usage.
