We have three innate psychological needs—competence, autonomy, and relatedness.
Book says...
Much of what we know about motivation is wrong.
Tasks are either: (1) Algorithmic—you pretty much do the same thing over and over in a certain way, or (2) Heuristic—you have to come up with something new every time because there are no set instructions to follow.
The carrot and stick approach to motivation is flawed.
The new approach to motivation has three essential elements: (1) Autonomy—the desire to direct our own lives; (2) Mastery—the urge to get better and better at something that matters; and (3) Purpose—the yearning to do what we do in the service of something larger than ourselves.
Researchers have found that extrinsic rewards can be effective for algorithmic tasks—those that depend on following an existing formula to its logical conclusion. But for more right-brain undertakings—those that demand flexible problem-solving, inventiveness, or conceptual understanding—contingent rewards can be dangerous
Goals that people set for themselves and that are devoted to attaining mastery are usually healthy. But goals imposed by others can sometimes have dangerous side effects.
Research shows that the secret to high performance isn’t our biological drive or our reward-and-punishment drive, but our third drive—our deep-seated desire to direct our own lives, to extend and expand our abilities, and to live a life of purpose.
Surah Al-A'raf ٱلأعراف “The Heights” (187-192)
188 Say, “I have no power to benefit or protect myself, except by the Will of Allah. If I had known the unknown, I would have benefited myself enormously, and no harm would have ever touched me. I am only a warner and deliverer of good news for those who believe.”
189 He is the One Who created you from a single soul, then from it made its spouse so he may find comfort in her. After he had been united with her, she carried a light burden that developed gradually. When it grew heavy, they prayed to Allah, their Lord, “If you grant us good offspring, we will certainly be grateful.”
190 But when He granted their descendants good offspring, they associated false gods in what He has given them. Exalted is Allah above what they associate ˹with Him˺!
191 Do they associate ˹with Allah˺ those ˹idols˺ which cannot create anything, but are in fact created;
192 which cannot help them, or even help themselves?
187 They ask you ˹O Prophet˺ regarding the Hour, “When will it be?” Say, “That knowledge is only with my Lord. He alone will reveal it when the time comes. It is too tremendous for the heavens and the earth and will only take you by surprise.” They ask you as if you had full knowledge of it. Say, “That knowledge is only with Allah, but most people do not know.”
193And if you ˹idolaters˺ call upon them for guidance, they cannot respond to you. It is all the same whether you call them or remain silent.
194 Those ˹idols˺ you invoke besides Allah are created beings like yourselves. So call upon them and see if they will answer you, if your claims are true
Learn languages, or learn skills, and do something productive. (e.g
“I can’t afford it.” “How can I afford it?” One is a statement, and the other is a question. Don't stop your brain working by the statement, but put your brain to work by asking questions
6 Lessons

- Understand the power of choice and choose daily what to do (right habits and educating yourself).
- Opportunities come and go. Being able to know when to make quick decisions is an important skill, once a person stops searching for information and self-knowledge, ignorance sets in.
- Pay yourself first by mastering the power of self-discipline to manage your cash flow, people, and personal time.
- Focus on ROI, “How fast do I get my money back?”
- Have a role model to follow
- Realize that if you want something, you need to give something first.
“Rich Dad Poor Dad is a starting point for anyone looking to gain control of their financial future.” Because money is not taught in schools, this book is designed as a course that mirrored real life... Taste of Life
“There is a difference between being poor and being broke. Broke is temporary. Poor is eternal.” & "You’re only poor if you give up" Money is one form of power. But what is more powerful is financial education Money comes and goes, but if you have the education about how money works, you gain power over it and can begin building wealth.
Money is an illusion, truly like the carrot for the donkey. Be financially literate to learn the rules! Because wealth is an information!
