Somatotypes
A somatotype is a way to classify someones body type into three main categories: Mesomorph, ectomorph, endomorph
Ectomorph
-Narrow shoulders and Narrow hips
-Tall and thin
-Less muscle
Suited for endurance type events e.g long distance running.
Endomorph
-Trouble losing weight, but can gain muscle
-More body fat
-Wide hips and narrow shoulders (pear shaped)
Suited to sports that do not require high levels of mobility e.g Shot Put
Mesomorph
-Typically muscular appearance
-Broad shoulders, narrow hips
-Little body fat
Suited to sports requiring strength and power, e.g boxing
