Chemicak Reactions
Decomposition Reaction
In this reaction a single compound is broken down into two or more simpler substances.
CaCo3=>CaO+CO2
2 No2=>2 O2+N2
CaCo3=>CaO+CaO2
Combination Reaction
It is a reaction in which simpler substances are combined into a more complex compound.
S(s)+O2=>SO2
2 C5H5+Fe=>Fe(C5H5)2
2 Mg(s)+O2=>2 MgO
Single Replecement Reaction
It is a reaction in which a more active metal displaces another less active metal in a compound.
Pb+FeSO4=>PbSO4+Fe
Ca+2 H2O=>Ca(OH)+H2
Fe(s)+2 HCl=>FeCl2+H2
Neutraliziaton (acid-base) Reaction
It is the reaction of an acid and a base.
KOH+HCl=>KCl+H2O
Mg(OH)2+H2SO4=>MgSO4+2 H2O
H2SO4+2 KOH=>K2SO4+H2O
Combustion Reaction
In this reaction carbon containing compounds, fuel burns in oxygen from the air to produce carbon dioxide, water, and heat or flame.
C3H8+5 O2=>3 CO2+4 H2O
C6H12+9 O2=>6 CO2+6 H2O
CH4+2 O2=>CO2+2 H2O
Double Replecement Reaction
In this reaction two ionic compounds in aqueous solution awitch anions and produce an insoluable substance.
NaCl+LiNO3=>NaNO3+LiCl
Na3PO4+3 KOH=>3 NaOH+K3PO4
BaCl2+K2CrO4=>BaCrO4+2 KCl
