Could possibly lead to more extreme cases of domestic violence offending if offenders know they have committed the offence of coercive control. Often when people are mentally unstable instead of backing down and accepting their mistakes, they will take it to the extremities of domestic violence. As was sadly and unfortunately seen in the Hannah Clarke case.
