Location:Marble: is found in Rathlin Island in Marble in Connemara in Cork black marble in Kilkenny.quartzite: can be found on top of some mountains such as the third loaf in County Wicklow and croagh Patrick in County Mayo
Marble: is formed when limestone is placed under heat and pressure for Marble is white and red or black marble has a foreign texture and is used in making headstones fireplaces monuments and tiles quartzite: is formed when sandstone comes under great heat and pressure this is usually during periods of folding when the sandstone comes in contact with magma within the crust

Use:Marble: in the making of fireplaces moments and tiles quartzite: is used in the surfacing of roads, in watches, and in glass

Rock type: limestone, sandstone,shale
Location:limestone= it is found in the burren County Clare and is the most common rock type in Ireland.Sandstone: it can be found in macgillycuddy's reeks County Clare. shale: it is found in Sligo Leitrim Donegal and Roscommon
Use:limestone: is used in monuments and building roads.sandstone: is used to make tiles or monuments.Shale: is used to make brick pottery tile and cement
Sandstome: is formed when a large amounts of Sandra worn away from the Earth's crust whereby the wind or rivers and deposited on the beds of lakes for on the seashore the grains of sand built up and the deposits be can compressed and cemented together.limestone: is formed when the remains of dead sea creatures shelves and fish bones pile-up on a bed of c0ver millions of years under great pressure these animals become compressed cemented together are preserved in the rock as fossils limestone is a permeable rock which means that water can pass through it

Formation:intrusive igneous rock:as it cooled very slowly over millions of years the the minerals in the magma for very large crystals. These crystals include quartz Mica and feldspar.
Extrusion igneous rock: it cools very quickly when lava reaches the surface. basalt has very small crystals that can only be seen using a microscope because it cools so fast
