About Ashoka
Who was Ashoka?
Ashoka was the 3rd emperor of the Mauryan Dynasty. He is the Grandson of Chandragupta Maurya and son of the second emperor Bindusara. Upon Bindusara's Death, Ashoka and his brothers were engaged in a war of succession and Ashoka got a victory.

Why Ashoka gave up war?
He decided to give up fighting wars after the victory over Kalinga, because he was horrified by the violence and bloodshed in that. He is the only king in the history of the world who gave up conquest after winning a war. Q15: Write a note on the cities of the Mauryan empire.

NO ONE WAS BRAVE TO FIGHT HIM SO FIERCE SO SCARY BUT THEN CAME KALINGA HE THOUGHT OF NOTHING AND WAGED A WAR KALINGA ALSO FOUGHT WITH MOURN ON SOLDIERS AND PEOPLES DEATH.
ASHOKA CONVERTED TO BUDDHISM AND MADE PEACE AND POWER HE FORGED A NEW CAMPAIGN OF PEACE AND RULE OF DHAMMA
