Junaid Rana, "Tracing the Muslim Body: Race, US Deportation, and Pakistani Return Migration"
Rana's theories about the Muslim body and how it is observed and treated when it comes into Western spaces demonstrates how the term Asian American has come to include far more than just Asian ethnic groups who have immigrated to the US and their descendants, but also anyone who looks Asiatic, whether in physical appearance, dress style, etc. Therefore, the Muslim American has become a racialized subject as Muslim now not only refers to their faith but someone who is identified and racialized by the way they look or present themselves.
