Product Design
Dimensions:
63CM (24.8 inches) wide 31.5cm (12.4 inches) high
The product it self is a cover for a vinly. the band is called "progress overload2 and the album name is "the fifth planet on the left"
A lower resolution version is needed at
450 pixels
in height suitable for online promotion
Theme
The Theming of the vinyl cover is spacey, sci-fi and futuristic
Other theming ideas are the ideas of Progress; progress potentially meaning progress in the human race and technology. this can be used as theming as the music bands name is percussive progress.
A darker colour pallet : to match the spacey theme. also potentially a metallic colour or "planet" such as orange or brown to work with the planet theme and name of the album
The band specifically chose a retro theme for the album in general so basing the theme around being retro and from the time of 70-early 90s will work well
Content
Most likely includes some things related to the songs of the album such as images
include some of the main instruments used by the band that separate the band from others. Required: Drums and keyboards
Maybe including five planets on the cover as the album is called "fifth planet on the left"
Probably in one of the corners or on the back should have the record labels logo and name on it " That Record"
Genre
The genre of the vinyl colour will be futuristic or be based around science fiction as its themed around space
The genre of the actual music could be chill wave ,meaning the aesthetic could be more "vaporwave" and "neon"
Purpose
The purpose of this design is to work as an album cover
Its also made and designed to work as advertising material that will catch the eye of the potential consumers buying it
Too work with the brand and the bands style
Style
The band has chosen a retro approach to the album so this is a good style to base the cover off of
style will be related to progress and futurism because of the bands name
The Target audience
of the album is meant to be broad and for everyone but i assume because of the retro design its more designed and orientated to suit the tastes of people who grew up in or are a fan of retro music.
