Industrialization led to several environmental effects and created inhumane living conditions for the lower working class. The usage of fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and petroleum were key supplies for the industrial revolution. However, coal-burning factories led to toxic air pollution in industrial towns in the late 19th century. Factories also caused smog which resulted in deadly respiratory conditions. Apart from respiratory problems, other diseases such as Cholera and Typhoid spread due to water pollution, as the industries dumped their waste into rivers, streams, and lakes.
