The elements of an ecosystem
What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem includes all living things and non-living things elements of a phisycal enviroment
All the individual organism of the same species form a population
Different pupulations can interact and form a community
The place where an organism lives or grows is its habitat
Terrestrial ecosystems
Temperature decidous forests grow in temperature areas and have trees that lose their leaves in autumn
Mediterranean forests grow in warm areas near the mediterranean sea
Coniferous forests grow in cold areas
Tropica rainforests grow near the Equator in warm, wet climates
Forest cover about 30% of Earth´s land surface
Grassland are flat, dry areas covered with gasses and shrubs. Tropical zones: savannash. Colder areas: prairies or steppes
Deserts are the hottest and driest places on Earth
Tundra is a cold area near the North Pole.
Aquatic ecosystem
What is aquatic ecosystem?
the aquatic ecosystem can be marine or freshwater
Freshwater ecosystem: can icludee both standing and flowing bodies of fresh water, such as lakes and rivers.
Marines ecosystem: are found in seas and ocean. Marine ecosystem include the shoreline, coral reefs, keelp forest and the open ocean.
Artificial Ecosystem
What is artificial ecosystem?
Artificial ecosystem are not natural enviroment
Artificial acuatic ecosystem include ponds and seservoirs made by people, fish farms and aquariums
Towns and cities are urban ecosystem that usually contain both natural and artificial elements.
Artificial terrestial ecosystem include farmlands and greenhouses, as well as zoos, urban parks and gardens
