As one of the off-job methods of training & development (Torrington, 2008).

Can take form in structured courses.

Difference of Training, Development & Education

Education

Development

Training

This activity is both focused upon & evaluated against, the job that an individual currently holds.

This activity focuses upon the jobs that an individual may potentially hold in the future & is evaluated against those jobs.

This activity focuses upon the activities that the organization employing individual or the individual part of, may partake in the future, and is almost impossible to evaluate.

Learning describes a person growing. Whereas training merely describes transfer of knowledge or skills for organizational gain.

Training is a chore; people do it because they're paid to. People respond to appropriate learning because they want to.

Training is something happens at work. Learning is something that people pursue by choice.

Conclusion

All three help to the enhancement of human potential or talent.

Training, development & education are essentially concerned with learning.
