Epidermis: superficial region
consist of epithelium tissue and avacular

Hypodermis: Superficial fascia
subcutaneous layer deep to skin
anchors skin to underlying structures mostly muscles
Mostly adipose tissue that absorbs shock and insulates
Not part of skin but shares some function
Dermis: underlies epidermis
Mostly fibrous connective tissue, vasuclar
