The source of income for ecotourism parks in Malaysia include entrance fees, parking fee, merchandise sales, donation, government subsidies, and accommodation. The source of income can be used to maintain the facilities in the park, as conservation funding for threatened species (for example reinvest income into the conservation efforts such as fighting poaching and providing endangered species with food and veterinary services), and reduce the ecotourism parks’ over-reliance on any one funding source. The cons are unstable revenue because charging entrance fee can alienate constituents, especially local communities who have traditionally enjoyed free access. Hence, low visitation rates.
