Resultant force
When two different forces are applied on an object at the same time, the net force applied on the object is called resultant force.

Force is a push or pull which changes or tends to change the state of motion of an object or its direction, speed, size or shape.

Types of friction
Static Friction
Acts when an object tries to move over a surface but does not actually move in spite of a small force being applied on it.

It is hard to overcome static friction, easy to overcome sliding friction, and even easier to overcome rolling friction. This also means that it is hard to bring an object in motion but easy to maintain its motion.

It is a natural contact force that comes into play when an object moves or tends to move over a surface.

The amount of friction depends on the mass of the object as well. More mass, more friction.
Because of the numerous advantages, friction is a necessary force, but due to some disadvantages, it can also be an evil. Hence, it is a necessary evil and must be controlled according to our needs.
