Ms. Sara Heyl's Classroom Support for Struggling Students! A Combo of my own ideas and my school's George Washington Academy's MTSS flow chart:
STEP 1
Student (who does not have an IEP) presents an academic or behavior concern: lack of attention, cannot complete work, frequent absences (noticing a pattern), and inability to participate. (Glass-Sadiq, 2021)
Teacher implements intervention strategies for 4-6 weeks Resources: PBIS IS AMAZING! It can take you through the process of finding the right strategy for the right situation. Have a 👀
REMINDER: Don't forget to talk to other teachers of the student to see if they are exhibiting similar struggles or behavior in other classes! Also find out from past teachers what has worked for them.

:check: Regularly meet and checkin with student. Provide Self monitoring assessment charts for the student to be held accountable.
🎯Goal: Support students' needs with appropriate interventions and differentiation, to meet the levels of all student learning. :
Support students with an existing IEP, IAP or OHI. Familiarize myself with their plans that tells the types of strategies that work best to support them and check in with learning support throughout the year and other team teachers.
