- - - - In 2 years I'll be quickly approaching my last term of University. Therefore I'd like to have had an industry work experience placement by then. As well as this, I'd like to be near the end of the development stage of my own short film that's independent of Screen and Film School
    - - Obviously, the 5 year plan is subject to change due to how far in the future it is. At the moment however, I hope to have had a few short films distributed by this point. As well as this,I'd like to be gearing up to working on a feature length production

        My passion for filmmaking began at an after-school club in which me and my friends made short films with nothing but a camera.
        
        I took Drama & Photography at GCSE and began to learn about composing an interesting image, colours and lights. At the same time I continued to make films, now outside of school, with my friends.
        
        College Films
        
        I took Film Studies at A-Level and began to learn more about the process of making films, and the effect they can have on the world
        
        I also got to make some more films with my friends as part of the course, and this time I had proper access to external sound recorders, and lighting panels. Basic equipment to use, but it improved the quality of my films greatly.
        
        'I was not murdered.'
        
        The summer after finishing college, I got to work on a personal project; a feature film. I wrote, directed, shot and edited it myself, called in some friends to act in it, and some other friends to compose a score for it. I also hijacked my house to use as a set for around a month. The film came out better than I'd hoped, and I still think, unsurprisingly that it's my greatest creative achievement
        
        University
        
        Most recently, I've started working on projects at University. The most notable experience so far being a music video I was head of lighting and assistant editor for.
        
        I would have expected working with new people on something I'd never attempted before would be a daunting task, but in reality, it was an extremely fun experience that allowed me to work more collaboratively than I ever have before, in a professional environment.
        
        Job Aspirations Vs Current Education
        
        I'm not entirely sure what role in the industry I would like to pursue just yet so this is a hard comparison to make
        
        Despite this, I feel as though I'm on the right track to progress. From the increasingly advanced equipment I get to use, to the creatives I meet, I'm becoming more professional with my filmmaking than ever before

        My favourite genre is Sci-Fi. Anything that has a vision of what the future looks like, or an interesting technological concept tends to be something I enjoy
        
        Examples of my favourite Sci-Fi films include: Inception, Interstellar, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Terminator 2, 2001, Blade Runner, Donnie Darko, Arrival, Moon, Cloud Atlas, The World's End, The Matrix, Stalker, Back to the Future, The Thing, Sunshine, Children of Men Etc.

  - - - In my current living situation, I need £1,000 a month to cover rent, bills and food.
        
        Of course, I'd need a bit more than £1,000 a month for other costs. Phone bill, yearly bus pass, travel to and from Southampton to name a few
        
        All things considered, between £18,000 and £24,000 a year would be ideal
