Definitions
Refers to new or inexperienced workers who are trying to settle in into work setting by copy colleagues actions (Noe, 2008).
Informal training
Is a training technique that is used to train new workers who are also the trainees under the care of experienced/skilled workers (Ibrahim, 2003).
Is nearly any type of one-on-one instruction between colleagues or between employees & supervisors (Werner & DeSimone, 2010).
Types of Learning
Self Directed Learning
Means trainees conduct their own learning process
Apprenticeship
Is a work-study training method where on-the-job & classroom training both associated with one another.

Advantages
For organizations, can save cost on hiring trainers, renting facilities, etc.
Enable trainees to catch the knowledge of experts.
Allow trainees to receive feedback about their learning performance.
Easy for employees on shift obtain access to training materials that they need.
Disadvantages
Trainees might takes longer time to develop their skills, knowledge & attitude.
Trainees must have strong urge to learn on their own.
