Parents - Piero da Vinci, lawyer; Caterina, peasant woman.
Educated in renowned Italian painter Andrea del Verrocchio's studio.
Work - Milan, later in Rome, Bologna, Venice.
Last years in France, in home given by King Francis I
Died on 2 May, 1519 in Clous Luce, France. Buried in the Chapel of Sint Hubert in Chateau d'Amboise.
Art historian Helen Gardner says that his mind and personality seem to be superhuman.
