Before school Begins
If the child is a returning student speak with the teachers from the previous year to identify students who might need intervention. This should be conducted for all students
If the child is a new student, review application information and information from the parents and previous teachers

Early Signs of struggling students (these are only a few as there are many ways children can present a disability)

Early Classroom Intervention (often applicable to all students) and inclusive)

Have the class schedule clearly posted on the wall and on work tables so all students know when it is time to transition and can prepare

Support for individuals

Tier 2 Support
Students will have support through learning service; being pulled out for small group or 1:1 work with a specialist teacher however this is still not considered "special ed" at our school.

Tier 3 Support
Students who are unsuccessful in Tier 1 and 2 interventions and are at least 1 full year behind on benchmarking standards in reading, writing or math, Additionally, many of theses students will have a full psychological evaluation to determine underlying disabilities.
