Criticisms
Francis Townsend
He felt that the First New Deal's extent did not go far enough. He supported the Union Party under William Lemke.
Huey P Long
He felt that the extent of the new deal didn’t go far enough, this was partially because he felt a full reform of the American government was necessary. He was left wing and the governor of louisiana who ran as a presidential candidate in 1935, who was assassinated in 1936.
Father Charles Coughlin
supported left wing ideals and the Union Party. He felt that the new deal didn't go far enough indicating that he thought more welfare was necessary. His solutions that he proposed were grounded in some left wing ideologies but it can be argued that he was more right wing
Supreme Court
Banned the NIRA, PWA and NRA in 1935 and the AAA in 1936 because the Government was acting in the federal government’s role when it shouldn’t have.
American Liberty League
right wing group that were against FDR because they disliked handouts and believed that FDR was intending to change fundamental elements of the business culture which were considered alien.
